UV Curing Adhesives

UV curing adhesives set within seconds when exposed to ultraviolet light, so parts can be handled immediately after the lamp passes. The resin cures only where light reaches it, which allows precise, on-demand bonding and straightforward automation on a production line.

Where they fit

The main limits are shadow areas and part thickness, because cured depth depends on how much UV energy reaches the resin. Transparent substrates such as glass and many plastics pass light well, while opaque parts need a light-transparent joint, a secondary moisture or heat cure, or a different chemistry. Formulations range from flexible, high-elongation grades for sealing and gasketing to rigid, high-strength types for structural bonds. Viscosity, cure speed, depth of cure and the substrate's own UV transmission all decide the result, and UV curing adhesives are common in optical assembly, electronics, medical devices and automotive interiors.
