An anaerobic structural adhesive is a single-component liquid that stays liquid while in contact with air and cures hard only when confined between close-fitting metal surfaces. That behaviour suits bonding cylindrical parts, magnets, bearings and bushes, where the joint itself triggers the cure and no mixing or metering is needed.
Because cure depends on metal contact and the absence of air, the gap between the parts, the surface cleanliness and the choice of primer all affect the result. These adhesives fill small voids, lock the assembly against vibration and spread load over the whole bonded area rather than concentrating it at a few points. Strength builds quickly and continues to develop over the first day.
Where to use it
Typical applications include bonding magnets into motor housings, retaining bearings and sleeves, joining shafts to hubs, and sealing fitted metal components in pumps, gearboxes and power tools. JOME supplies a metal and magnetically bonded anaerobic structural adhesive, while the anaerobic structural adhesive range should be matched to the gap, the substrate pair and the service temperature before release.
JOME is a
Anaerobic Structural Adhesive supplier with its own factory, RoHS and REACH compliant grades and free trial samples.
