UV Curing Sealant

UV curing sealant is a sealing material that cures within seconds when exposed to ultraviolet light, without heat, mixing or a long fixture time. Because the reaction is triggered by light rather than by moisture or a catalyst, the material stays workable until the lamp is switched on, which makes it suitable for automated lines and for parts that cannot be oven-cured.

The limitation to plan around is shadowing: areas the light cannot reach stay uncured. Transparent substrates, clear joints and open beads therefore cure well, while deep or hidden sections need a dual-cure grade that also reacts with ambient moisture, or a different product family entirely. Elasticity, hardness, adhesion to glass, plastic or metal, and the required transparency are the other selection points.

Where it fits

Typical duties include glass and accessory bonding, sealing and gasketing where a rubber O-ring would otherwise be fitted, temporary masking that must be peeled away after processing, and other assembly work that needs a fast, clean cure.
