An anaerobic structural adhesive anaerobic adhesive — a one-part liquid that cures only when air is excluded and the joint is closed — is used to bond and retain close-fitting metal parts. It stays workable on the bench and sets after assembly, so the parts can still be aligned before the bond develops.
Anaerobic adhesives are chosen when the joint geometry already provides the cure conditions: tight metal-to-metal contact, a small gap and no exposure to open air. They fill the irregularities between machined surfaces, prevent fretting and micro-movement, and resist vibration, fuels, oils and mild chemicals once cured. Gap size, surface energy and temperature govern how fast full strength is reached.
Where these products are used
Typical work includes fixing magnets and inserts into housings, retaining bearings, bushes and sleeves on shafts, bonding rotors and stators, and sealing fitted parts in motors, pumps and power tools. JOME supplies a metal and magnetically bonded anaerobic structural adhesive, and the anaerobic structural adhesive anaerobic adhesive selection should be checked against the joint gap, the metal pair and the working temperature.
