Introduction to Different Adhesive Schemes for Various Industrial Sensors

Industrial sensors are devices that detect and sense various physical quantities such as temperature, pressure, liquid level, flow rate, vibration… etc.; they are widely used in all aspects of life and production. They are mainly sealed with potting compounds, sealing adhesives, and special silicone gels, etc.

Industrial sensors–torque sensors
 

Application scenarios: aero engine, CNC equipment, reducer, water pump, etc

Use of adhesive points: 

1. PCB board potting; (JOMP 1680)

Adhesive selection  characteristic

JOMP 1680100:16 two-component polyurethane, with adhesive force and low modulus characteristics at the same time, can   avoid damage to PCB board caused by high speed rotation and temperature change in the working of torque sensor;
JOMP 1858  The paste has a surface drying time of 15min, hardness of A42 and bonding strength of 1.2MPa (PC). It is suitable for wire harness fixing with both strength and toughness.

Industrial sensors–pressure sensors

Application scenarios: UAV, humanoid robot, robot dog, CNC equipment……

Use of adhesive points: 

1. Sensor potting; (JOMS 1806)

2. Terminal bonding: (JOMS 2130)

JOMS 1806 1:1 twocomponent silicone gel, penetration (1/10) 75mm, low product hardness, small mechanical stress;

JOMS   2130                  Semi-flow, hardness A30, good bonding effect;

Industrial sensors-pressure sensors

Application: air pump, high pressure gas tank

Use of adhesive points: 

1. Sensor potting; (JOMS 1806)

2. Sealing ring bonding (JOMS 2130)

Adhesive selection characteristic

JOMS 18061, low hardness, easy to transmit pressure;2, surface tension is large, can effectively block the surface diffusion of water droplets;
JOMS  2130Semi-flowing dehydrated silica gel has a good bonding force with silica gel products, and the small molecules produced by curing are non-corrosive;

Application: electronic scale

Use of adhesive points: 

1. Strain gauge protection; (JOMS 2121)

2. Surface adhesive (JOMS 2130, JOMS 1821)

2: 1 two-component epoxy structural adhesive, with thixotropic, no sagging after glue application, CTE =40PPM ( <Tg);

Application scenarios: Power, new energy industry

Adhesive point: Integral potting of components (JOMP 1680);

Two-component polyurethane 100:16, hardness A85, low elastic modulus, long-term use will not damage the element due to large internal stress of the glue;

Use adhesive points for circuit board potting; (JOME 2091, JOME 1788)

2. Respond to the potting and bonding of some large gap products;

JOME1788            100:15 epoxy potting compound, low cost;

Industrial sensor-proximity switch

Application scenarios: mechanical equipment monitoring, automated production lines and smart home systems;

Application: 

1. Circuit board potting; (JOME 1708 (5#), JOMP 1660)2. Ferrite & coil potting; (JOMP 1680)

Industrial sensors-geomagnetic sensors

Application scenarios: parking Spaces, traffic lights

Use glue point: when the geomagnetic sensor is installed on the ground, it needs to be filled with glue. It needs to be cured quickly, and the strength should be high after curing, and it should be waterproof; (JOMP 6601)

Application scenario: device screen door

Use adhesive points: 

1. Fill between aluminum profile and shell; (JOMS 2121)

2. Fixing of components, capacitors, etc.; (JOMS 1856)

JOMS1856                 Low odor, can greatly reduce the mechanical stress
