Silicone surface treatment agent primer coating agent

JOM1262 surface treatment agent (primer) is a single-component bonding promoter designed to enhance the adhesion of molding silicone adhesive to a variety of difficult coating substrates, and can also be used to improve the adhesion of silicone elastomers to a variety of other materials.

After coating on the substrate surface, the solvent in JOM1262 surface treatment agent will volatilize in a short time, and the substrate surface will be activated, thus effectively enhancing the adhesion of the addable silicone rubber to the substrate.

Material usage method

	Brush / wipe	Use a sponge ball, brush and dust-free cloth to dip and apply to the substrate surface

Typical drying conditions

10 Minute @25℃ After applying, the solvent should be completely evaporated before applying glue

matters need attention

The substrate surface should be cleaned and dried before applying JOM 1262 surface treatment agent. The de-greased surface can be thoroughly cleaned with a cloth containing an industrial solvent such as IPA (acetone), isopropanol, naphtha, vegetable oil, xylene, toluene or MEK.

JOM 1262 should be applied very lightly and evenly by wiping, dipping or spraying. Excess material should be wiped off to avoid excessive use. Ensure that the coating is dry before applying silicone.

For rough or porous substrate surfaces, a coverage of about 20 m2/L is recommended. On flat metal surfaces, the coverage may reach 25 m2/L.

Ensure the JOM 1262 surface treatment agent is applied in a well-ventilated environment to prevent solvent accumulation. The recommended ambient temperature should be between 5℃ and 30℃; lower temperatures will prolong the drying time. Allow the primer to dry for at least 10 minutes, with the exact duration depending on external temperature, humidity, and the substrate’s porosity.

For substrates treated with JOM 1262, please apply glue as soon as possible within 4 hours. The best bonding effect can be obtained by applying silicone gel within 2 hours.

After using the primer, the bonding force is quickly formed by heating or 25℃ 24hr.

Storage and shelf life

Storage time: 12 months at 25℃.

It is recommended to store below 32℃ and avoid contact with moisture

The container should be kept sealed.

When not in use, the container should be tightly closed. The water vapor in the air will cause the primer to hydrolyze, and prolonged exposure will weaken or destroy the primer’s effect. Once hydrolyzed, a milky white substance will be produced, and the material will not be reusable if it has not reacted

The primer will be contaminated if mixed together.

This product has not been tested and verified, and should not be used for implantation in the human body or for purposes that are directly in contact with blood.

However, when combined with food-grade silicone,

it can pass FDA tests.
